This adapter converts IP traffic into a format that is compatible with the serial data transport stream created in the dVMo equipment. This permits the dVMo, designed as a video link, to be used for IP traffic with data speeds of up to 8Mbits/s. Depending on the radio hardware configuration both TCP/IP and UDP transmissions are possible. The IPX allows setting of IP addresses, gateway address and masks and includes a routing table facility.
dVMo-MXE is the core encoder used in the dVMo hardware. In this format it stands alone as just the encoder without the RF section. It will allow a secondary video, audio and data to be encoded into a data stream that can be multiplexed into the main dVMo-T stream. This allows two sets of data to be transmitted over the same RF link.
Because the MXE also has a multiplexer input, further encoder streams can be added in. In theory MXE could be stacked on MXE on MXE but in practice the ability of the RF link and its data capacity dominates and limits the stacking that can take place.
The MXD is the companion to the MXE and allows decoding of each stream as received from the base receiver unit.
