In the course of providing standard radio transmitter, radio receivers and radio transceivers to all manner of applications and clients, quite often special variants or specific developments evolve.
In terms of shipping quantities and financial income this activity is a very significant part of our business.
Some of these 'specials' are totally funded by the client and become exclusive to that client. Others are part funded with the option for Wood & Douglas to offer these to other clients where the radio module will more closely satisfy their need.
Below are some of the products that have been created and which may be of interest.
These are crystal controlled single in line modules at VHF and UHF delivering 10mW RF output power and needing only a 3V @ 15mA supply. The modulation interface is designed for a raw data signal which will generate FSK data in the radio.
The G-MAX is a highly ruggedised 2W UHF radio for use in high vibration environments. The experienced gained in this development lead to and benefitted the development of the latest generation SX450.
The strong working partnership with Analogue Devices (ADI) created a small Class 1 capable radio transceiver to be developed for a high volume social alarms project.
A VHF 100mW transceiver development for TPS use. The radio and IP65 housing were bespoke developments for a high volume requirement.
