6000 Series RTU

The Pacscom Division of Wood & Douglas Ltd is mainly involved with system level design and supply and benefits from many years of trading in SCADA applications.  

The 6000 Series RTU can be regarded as a data concentrator or hub.  It has a number of embedded digital and analogue input and output data lines (I/O) that are encoded or driven by the on board central processor.  The number of such ports can be expanded by the addition of I/O expansion boards.

In order to talk to the outside world the 6000 Series has a various gateway ports.  These allow narrowband short and long range radio connections, IP wired connectivity and also GSM/GPRS connection.

A typical configuration might see the narrowband radio port connecting to a standard W&D low power radio device to gather data from local short range radio devices.  The data once gathered could then be merged with the status of the local I/O ports on the 6000 motherboard before onward transmission by IP or GSM connection.  

The 6000 Series is a powerful hub or concentrator that can sit as the centre device in both a small local network or a wide area version.

The 6000 Series is deployed in all manner of applications.  It is a firm favourite of Utility companies and alarm and monitoring organisations where its flexibility and depth of facilities and connectivity options make it highly suitable to their needs.
