Standard Radio Products

Wood & Douglas is first and foremost a radio communication product design and manufacturing company.  We live and breathe radio comms. Products can be standard offerings as detailed below or can be very dedicated Bespoke Designs specific to our customer needs.

Because the standard products can be used in all manner of applications and markets it is very difficult to segregate them into categories.  From a technology point of view they can be described as radio transmitters, radio receivers, radio transceivers, radio modems etc but where they are used is boundless and difficult to succinctly express.   We have chosen therefore to categorise them by the type of information they carry, namely data, video and voice.

There will inevitably be a degree of overlap in this approach and you should bear this in mind as you trawl through this site. The underlying thing to remember is that every item you discover will be well specified, well designed, well manufactured and well supported.  But if you are already a customer you won't need to be reminded of this.

Each of these devices will utilise the same high quality design concepts and principles for the radio circuitry but their interfaces will be tailored to the nature of the information being transmitted over the radio link.

In the majority of cases a solution for a radio application will be found within this extensive and flexible range.

For those 'not quite standard' applications we find that a customer will often use these standard building blocks and modules to prove a concept, sell the concept to management and then approach us to customise or undertake a complete Bespoke Design.

This is a very cost effective route to take and one which will benefit from allowing the W&D team to advise and support the initiative from an early stage.
